“I am not a fan of basketball and to tell you the truth I wasn’t even going to attend the assembly today, but my friends made me come. When the assembly started you took the microphone in your hand and started speaking words of such wisdom and encouragement. I don’t think I had ever related to that sort of speech before. For only a few words, it had such a deep impact. Thank you for taking this road in your life to inspire the youth of our country!”

"I would like to thank you for the wonderful assembly that you provided us with! The response from the students has been overwhelming - even from our most pessimistic students who never like any event! Your program is entertaining, fast-paced, exciting and fun, and your messages were inspiring! It was a real privilege to have you here with us - thanks again."

“A few years ago your team came to our school for an assembly. We usually have many assemblies each year, but one of my favourite high school memories was when you came to our school. I must say, and I’m being honest, that your presentation was the best we have had in years. This year, I am now President of the Student Council and I would love nothing more than to have you back.”

  Why Power To Choose

Over the past 10 years the Power To Choose team, led by Director Mano Watsa, has presented to over 250,000 students at over 400 high schools and elementary schools across Canada.

Hundreds of principals and teachers alike have called the Power To Choose presentation "the best presentation they've ever seen."

Why?  It's simple.

The Power To Choose presentation reaches students. In fact, it strikes a cord with young and old alike. And, from large inner-city high schools to small rural grade schools, the blend of interaction, entertainment and inspiration makes for a dynamic presentation with every audience.

The GREATEST IMPACT is felt by those students who normally don’t like to attend such presentations. Certainly the assembly influences the motivated students. But, what the Power To Choose presentation specializes in is reaching the students who rarely get involved. Would you like to reach your students in a positive and meaningful way AND foster a sense of community between all the different groups of students in your school?

The Message - Building Respect, Positive Attitudes & Winning Choices

Creating a climate of respect is the responsibility of every student. Through the Power To Choose messages, students are inspired to take ownership of their attitudes, choices and actions. With humor, personal stories and demonstrations, Director Mano Watsa captures the imaginations of ALL those in attendance. Mano's sincerity and ability to relate to where students are at in their lives enables each and every student to walk away challenged and empowered.   (For a full list of topics we address - click here)

The Method - Dynamic, Interactive & Entertaining

Our combination of high-energy events, student participation, charismatic presenters, and powerful messages makes for a dynamic presentation. Audiences move from pin drop silence to loud cheers and laughter within moments. If you’re looking to build school spirit and enhance the sense of community within your student body, look no further. And, the tougher the school, the tougher the students - the better they respond!

What Actually Takes Place?

With students seated on bleachers, chairs or on the ground around the basketball court (and often onto the court), our Power To Choose will compete against students selected from the audience in a tug of war & dodge ball competition. In between the events, your students will enjoy the powerful messages shared by Power To Choose Director Mano Watsa. Then, it’s the main event - the basketball game against your senior boys and girls basketball players. After a dramatic finale in the basketball game, students are encouraged to live out the challenges they’ve been given and they leave the assembly encouraged, energized & inspired.
