1. What if we do not have enough space in our gym for our students?
Having performed over 400 Power To Choose assemblies, we have seen gymnasiums every shape and size. The ideal space for our presentation is the full basketball court, with students sitting in chairs, on the floor around the court, in the bleachers, or a combination. With schools that have limited seating and a large student body (typically over 800 students) we offer back-to-back assemblies (a junior followed by a senior assembly) if needed.
For schools with no seating and very little room around the basketball court, we sit students on the floor or on chairs on the basketball court. In the smallest of high school single gymnasiums, we have been able to fit 400-500 students. Also, in the smallest of elementary school gyms, we have been able to fit 200 students. We have found that the tighter the students are to the playing court, the greater the level of enthusiasm (we compare it to sitting in the front row of an NBA game, compared with the cheap seats!). If you are still concerned with space being an issue, contact us and we can discuss the options.
